Employment Opportunity: Junior Stream Habitat Technician (Peterborough)

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) is looking for an individual to assist the Community Stream Steward Program staff in the day-to-day delivery of the program. Tasks will vary, including data entry, landowner contact, workshop preparation, stream restoration project implementation, stream monitoring, and much more. Both in office and in field activities are components of this position and excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills are required. Employment Opportunity: Invasive Species Technician (10 positions)

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), and various other groups are currently searching for a hard working motivated individuals to assist with our Invading Species Awareness Program. There are 10 Invasive Species Technician postions open (Chapleau, Espanola, Kenora, Kirkland Lake, Manotick, Mississauga, Orillia, Oshawa, Peterborough and Trenton) to individuals who were registered as full-time students in the 2010/11 academic year; are returning to full-time studies (college or university) in the fall of 2011; who will be 30 years of age or younger on June 6th, 2011.

National Fish and Wildlife Conservation Congress

Call for Abstracts - Deadline July 15, 2011

The Technical Program Committee or the first ever Canadian National Fish & Wildlife Conservation Congress invites the submission of abstracts of presentations and posters relevant to the focus of the Congress. All submissions must include the topic area for which the abstract is being submitted. Deadline for submission is July 15, 2011.

Ontario Wildlife Crop Damage Manual

The Ontario Wildlife Crop Damage and Licestock Predation Assessment Manual is available online for download. The manual is produced by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Victoria Stewardship Council with the support of OFAH members, agricultural producers and nany partners in agricultural and wildlife agencies.

OFAH Conservation Lottery Main Draw

The 37th Annual OFAH Conservation Lottery main draw will take place at OFAH head office on Friday May 27, 2011 at 1:30pm. Please remember to have your sold tickets in by 10am on Friday to ensure they are processed and entered into the draw. To purchase tickets please call our head office at 705-748-6324 (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm).
